Three years after the 2023 Mindoro oil spill, the Verde Island Passage (VIP) and the communities that rely on it continue to feel the impact. This report details and reviews the publicly reported response, rehabilitation and recovery efforts, and assesses the current condition of the VIP through independent water quality testing and seagrass monitoring undertaken in February 2026.
