CEED on the draft Philippine Energy Plan 2018-2040
Near the end of August 2020, The Department of Energy (DOE) released the much-needed update of the Philippine Energy Plan (PEP) for the years 2018-2040. The DOE called for comments from the stakeholders on the PEP 2018-2040, which now takes into account the changes in the energy landscape brought about by COVID-19.
The Center for Energy Ecology and Development (CEED) commends the department for initiating the review of the energy plan given today’s pandemic. In response to the call for comments, the CEED presents its recommendations for the PEP 2018-2040 and hopes that it can continue working with the DOE on finalizing a people-centered, ecologically just, and Paris-aligned energy plan.
